The Application Process
The Michigan City Police Civil Service Commission has the responsibility of hiring Police Officers. The application process is as follows:
Civil Service Examination, including interviews and a written examination
Agility Test – Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Standards
Offer to Hire
Hiring Date Established upon Successful Completion of Listed Steps
Must be a US citizen.
Must be at least 21 years of age but not yet 36 years of age when appointed.
Must be a graduate of an accredited high school or possess a state accredited G.E.D.
Must hold a valid unrestricted operators license.
